Equity markets have kept climbing this year. The S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 2000, and Dow Jones have all pushed to new highs, which is good news if you’re already positioned in these markets. But there’s a side effect that doesn’t get talked about as much: as these benchmarks climb, the capital required to trade futures on them, including E-nano futures, climbs right along with them.
For many traders, that’s when these benchmarks start to feel out of reach. Not because the strategy stopped working, but because the position size needed to get exposure got bigger.
What Are E-nano Equity Index Futures
CME Group introduced E-nano Equity Index futures to address exactly that gap. These contracts are built at one-tenth the size of Micro E-mini futures, covering the same four benchmarks traders already follow:
| E nano Contracts | Multiplier | Globex Code |
| S&P 500 futures | $0.50 x S&P 500 | NES |
| Nasdaq-100 futures | $0.20 x Nasdaq-100 | NNQ |
| Russell 2000 futures | $0.50 x Russell 2000 | N2K |
| Dow Jones futures | $0.05 x Dow Jones | NDOW |
They also carry the same nearly 23-hour trading access as their larger counterparts, so the way these markets behave around the clock doesn’t change, only the size of the position needed to participate in them.
Why This Matters If You Already Trade Micro E-minis
E nano futures aren’t a replacement for Micro E-mini contracts; they’re an additional way to size into the same markets. If you’ve ever wanted to scale into a position more gradually, or size down during a period of higher volatility without stepping away from the benchmark entirely, E nano gives you that flexibility alongside what you already trade.
Trading E nano on EdgeClear
E nano Equity Index futures are available directly on EdgeProX starting today, the same platform EdgeClear clients already use for Micro E-mini and other futures products. There’s no new account to open and no new platform to learn. The same Rithmic, CQG, and CTS data feeds you already rely on support E nano contracts.
If you’re already trading on EdgeProX, getting started with these contracts means adding them to your watchlist rather than setting up a new account from scratch.
Get Started
The capital it takes to trade these benchmarks has changed, but the benchmarks themselves haven’t. If E nano futures give you a way back into positions you’d been priced out of, or simply a finer way to size into the markets you already follow, the only thing left is to put it to use.
