The information we collect
We gather Personally Identifiable Information (PII) directly from your account application, including documentation, emails, and responses to questions. This encompasses details like your Name, Date of Birth, Address, Phone number, Email address, Social Security number or Tax ID, Occupation, Asset information, Trading/Investment experience, and Risk tolerance.
PII is also obtained from third parties, such as Futures Clearing Merchants (FCMs), background check providers, and credit reporting agencies. Your use of our services contributes additional PII, including transaction history, account funding, and interactions with our platforms. Cookies, used for administrative purposes, enhance your service experience.
Use, sharing, and disclosure of your information
To support the financial products and services we provide to you, Edge Clear and it’s FCMs may share the personal information described above with third-party service providers and joint marketers not affiliated with us, including:
financial service institutions (e.g., advisers, dealers, brokers, trust companies and banks) with whom we have joint marketing agreements, such as agreements to market financial services or products that we jointly offer, endorse or sponsor; and
companies under contract to perform services for us or on our behalf, such as FCM’s that prepare and mail statements and transaction confirmations or provide data processing, computer software maintenance and development, transaction processing and marketing services.
These companies acting on our behalf are required to keep your personal information confidential.
Also, we may disclose personal information with non-affiliated companies and regulatory authorities as permitted or required by applicable law. For example, we may disclose personal information to cooperate with regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies to comply with subpoenas or other official requests, and as necessary to protect our rights or property. Except as described in this privacy policy, we will not use your personal information for any other purpose unless we describe how such information will be used at the time you disclose it to us or we obtain your permission to do so.
Affiliates may also receive PII to operate, research, improve services, display customized content, develop new services, and communicate with you. Google Analytics is used for targeted online advertising and platform functionality improvement.
Security and confidentiality
Edge Clear uses a variety of security measures to protect your personally identifiable information from unauthorized use, which may include but is not limited to, the use of SSL encryption. Only authorized personnel have access to your PII, and stringent safeguards are in place. Third-party service providers are vetted for PII protections. While we aim for robust protection, the inherent nature of the internet and electronic communications prevents an absolute guarantee against third-party access.
Changes to this policy or your information
Edge Clear may modify this Privacy Policy, and in case of material changes, we will post the amended policy and we may also deliver it via email or other reasonable and appropriate ways, such as posting a notice on the services or attaching it to account statements. Your continued use of our services implies acknowledgment and acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
Edge Clear relies on the PII provided to us. Should you believe or become aware that your PII has changed or is incorrect, it is important and indeed required under your contractual Customer Agreement with us, that you notify us of any necessary changes. For example, name changes, address, updated emails, contact information, material changes to your financial status or other changes to the information you provide us with respect to opening and servicing your account. Subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements, you have the right to request that we delete your PII as well.
